"I am NOT the dude from the Barenaked Ladies!"

I've been taking pictures since I was 12. I remember borrowing Kodak how-to photography books from the library and thinking those 70's hairdo's were pretty darn funny.

But that didn't scare me away from wanting to take pictures. I even said back then that I wanted to be a photographer. Though later, I decided against it because I thought there would be too much travel involved, and I fancied myself a 'home-body'. So I went to Bible school to become a family counselor ... but that's another story.

So now I shoot weddings and portraits for a living with my company FORBES CREATIVE. I'm based out of Kingston, Ontario, Canada where my wife, Elaine, and I have bought a 120 year old 'fixer-upper' rowhouse. We're about 3/4 done and are working on the kitchen right now (the hardest part). We have a white cat named 'Snowball II', a tabby named 'Kiwi' and drive a silver 2006 Toyota RAV4 (which so far has remained nameless).

• Top 5 favorite movies.

Fight Club, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Se7en, Beautiful Girls, The Apartment

• What’s your most endearing quality?

I'm a good listener ... I know when to shut up and when to speak my mind.

• What did you want to be when you grew up?

An architect ... I made my mom buy me stacks of graph paper pads. I thought the T-square was the coolest thing ever.

• Describe your favorite meal (appetizer, entrée, dessert)?

Spring rolls with sweet chili sauce, red curry peanut chicken with coconut rice, hot apple crisp ... iced coffee.

• What do you do in your spare time?

I'm a drummer in a rock band.

• What music would you take to a desert island, if you could only choose one artist?

Tom Waits.

• Are you a cat or dog person?

Both, but cats are low-maintainence and provide soothing heat and massage.

• What is your definition of success?

To consistently make photos that move people.

• If you could spend the day with anyone in the world, who would it be?

Bono ... kind of a cliché answer, but I've been the biggest U2 fan since I was 14. I DESERVE to spend the day with Bono ... oh and Larry too. I've paid my rock n' roll dues!

• Describe your first job.

Stocking shelves at a health food/book store. My favourite part was organizing all the invoices and rotating the stock (NERD!).
